CHARACTER BUILDING IS THE PRIMARY TASK OF EDUCATION |
||
|
Education does not
necessarily mean hoarding on high academic degrees. education must aim at
building one’s character awakens his consciousness, unable him to take up
judicious line of action and thereby to mould and shape a man of integrity.
It is with these ideas a mind that mahatma Gandhi had given a call for mass
education in India did he mean to teach each and every man the alphabets
only ? Certainly not! Besides teaching the art of reading and writing,
education builds our character, develops the art of thinking and matures our
expressions but unfortunately, Gandhi Ji’s idea of mass and education has
degenerated into very low type of literacy.
The primary
task of education is to build men’s character because character builds a
nation. Individual character goes on expending and ultimately climaxes in
national character. there is a great difference between education and
literacy. Even a matriculate can be more educated then the highly qualified
person. what we need today is a man of character who can build a prosperous
future. This can be achieved only through education. it is only education
which can train our mind, heart and faculties to stand up against any odd n
take up challenges boldly |
